Dr. Orringer Receives the Spirit of Hope Award

On October 9, 2017, Dr. Jay Orringer was honored by The Magnolia Council at the Tower Cancer Research Foundation’s 11th Annual Spirit of Hope Luncheon & Boutique. The Spirit of Hope Award was given in recognition of Dr. Orringer’s dedication over his twenty-eight years in practice to supporting survivors of breast cancer throughout their journey.

As described in the Beverly Hills Courier: “As a testament to Dr. Orringer’s unique understanding of, and impact upon, his cancer patients, and his ability to inspire hope in his patients, Tower Cancer Research Foundation was proud to honor Dr. Orringer with their Spirit of Hope Award this year.”

Since its inception in 2009, The Magnolia Council has honored esteemed members of the community for their work, and the council has raised well over $2 million to fund cancer research. This year, with over 600 influential and prominent women philanthropists and leaders in entertainment, politics, business and medicine in attendance, the Spirit of Hope Luncheon & Boutique has raised over $500,000 to date. 

Each year The Magnolia Council awards a $100,000 research grant to further cancer research and helps fund Magnolia House patient support programs, which offer no-cost in-depth support to cancer survivors and their families.

Dr. Orringer is honored to be recognized by such an outstanding and valuable organization as The Magnolia Council and he deeply appreciates the work that the Tower Cancer Research Foundation is doing to meaningfully advance cancer research.
