Dr. Jay Orringer presented a course on nipple-sparing mastectomy reconstruction at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Annual 2016 Meeting on September 23. The conference was held in our hometown of Los Angeles, and this educational meeting featured presentations from some of the current best-known surgeons in the field of plastic surgery.
Dr. Orringer's course discussed his nuances of techniques for nipple-areolar sparing mastectomy reconstruction. Reconstructions using both implants as well as use of one’s own tissues (autologous tissue) were described.
Breast reconstruction is one of the focuses of Dr. Orringer's practice, and he is known nationally and internationally for his breast reconstructive work. Dr. Orringer is honored to have presented at this prestigious conference and he considers it a privilege to have shared his knowledge and expertise with colleagues so that more patients might potentially benefit.
