We are proud to announce that Dr. Jay S. Orringer was recently featured in the John Wayne Cancer Institute’s Innovations magazine. The profile of Dr. Orringer highlights his dedication to supporting breast cancer survivors and his efforts toward helping to restore wholeness following mastectomy for cancer and in the high-risk setting such as BRCA gene mutations.
In the article, Dr. Orringer gives credit to the great team effort involved in every breast cancer survivor’s journey. The patient is the captain of that team and is supported by Dr. Orringer, the nurses, other healthcare workers, and the entire community of the Providence Saint John’s Health Center.
Dr. Orringer says that one of the best gifts imaginable is “when a 28-year-old mastectomy reconstruction patient writes, ‘Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me get through this process, helping me feel like a woman again, helping me be proud of my body, and most importantly, helping to save my life.’”
Have you been diagnosed with breast cancer or a high-risk situation such as a BRCA gene mutation? Dr. Orringer can help you understand your options for breast reconstruction and help you make informed decisions on your journey to recovery.
