Your Neck Lift Consultation
During your initial consultation, Dr. Orringer will examine you and discuss all of your concerns with you in detail. He will then help you determine whether neck lift surgery is the best option for your goals. Should neck lift surgery be determined as the best course of action, Dr. Orringer will begin planning for the procedure and developing an individualized treatment process in accordance with your unique needs.
The Surgery
Although neck lift surgery is often performed in tandem with a face lift, this procedure can be performed on its own as well. During surgery, Dr. Orringer will eliminate any excess skin in the neck area and tighten the remainder. Neck muscles will also be pulled taut to give the area a smoother and firmer appearance.

Recovery
There will be some bruising and swelling after neck lift surgery; however, this should resolve in the weeks following the procedure. Pain medication can be prescribed to control any discomfort. Please arrange for someone to drive you home following the procedure, and please do not drive until oral narcotics are no longer necessary to control post-operative pain. Dr. Orringer will advise you to limit any strenuous activity or mobility in the neck area for a short period after surgery. Any scarring from the procedure should be virtually invisible to others, as the incisions are typically made in very discreet places.
